FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Whilst we can arrange a safari anywhere across Africa, our standard safari takes place in the Greater Kruger National Park, based in South Africa. For specific enquiries, please reach out to us on our website, via our Contact Us page.

We keep our group sizes low so you have the freedom to move around and get involved with your surroundings, as well as more personal attention from our local guides. This intimate size ensures that your group will not crowd your experience. You can expect up to 8 travellers on a trip and a minimum of 6.

Whilst there are no guarantees in nature, you will be in Big 5 reserves and so it is very likely you will encounter the Big 5 on your journey.

We always recommend packing as light as possible however the specific requirements for your tour will vary widely depending on where and when you are traveling. A download of what to bring is made available upon booking your safari.

Requirements for travel visas vary widely depending on your nationality and your destination. If you do require a visa you can arrange them yourself or use the services of a travel agent or visa processing company.

Most of our trips do not have a single supplement. This means that the accommodation is on a twin share basis and, if you are travelling on your own, you will be sharing a room with another G Adventures traveller of the same sex. Some tours have an optional single supplement or rarely a mandatory single supplement.

An optional service that may be available is called "My Own Room". This service allows solo travellers to request their own private room while on tour. The cost and the details vary by trip, so please refer to each trip summary page for details.

Travelers arrive from all over the world to begin our tours and it is not possible to include international airfare in our prices. We would be happy to help you arrange flights. Just ask for a quote when making your booking.

To travel independently you must be at least 18 years of age. Travellers with pre-existing medical conditions are required to complete a medical questionnaire. For families, we recommend you make a private enquiry, via our Contact Us page, and we will see how to accommodate you.

Starting and ending lodges are listed on your travel voucher and in the booking section of the website. We use a variety of accommodations types en-route and so a complete list won't be provided until day 1 of your tour. We do, however, make available to you affiliated lodges so that you can get a feel for the type of accommodation you will be staying at throughout your journey. If your family requires contact information, or in case of emergency, please have them phone ‪+27 82 3437 020‬. This number can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

It's extremely difficult if not impossible to join a tour after it has begun. It is possible to leave a tour early however you will be responsible for your own arrangements from the moment you decide to leave the tour. This would come at an additional cost to you, over and above the original price paid.

Most of our adventures do not include airport transfers and so we recommend you arrange a taxi on arrival (this is the most economical and efficient way of getting you to your starting destination). If you would prefer a pre-arranged transfer these are usually available at an additional cost - please contact us for more information.

Whilst we do our best to cater for any allergies, as we use local farming projects and community programs, we cannot always guarantee that we can meet first world fad related dietary needs. We hope you will learn to appreciate this throughout your journey with us.

We have made a huge effort to partner with local companies, staff and community projects. Everyone has been incentivised; fairly and equally therefore tipping is not expected. If, however, you wish to add a gratuity at the end of your stay, this can be arranged, directly, with your guide. Tipping should not be a responsibility that falls on the consumer, but rather the operator.

Our philosophy at UCS is that once you have paid, we do not want to see you reach in your pocket, again. Food, local soft drinks, house wines and beers, and basic activities are covered in your standard package. The only thing we cannot pick up is your hard liquor tab, should this be a need for you.
